I rarely post about plain old news, but I love this one.
Initiative activist Tim Eyman and other foes of Washington state’s new gay civil rights law failed to submit enough voter signatures Tuesday to force a public vote this fall.Given Tuesday’s date, I’m sure that Satan had something to do with it.
The “controversial” amendment to the state’s anti-discrimination law (change underlined):
The right to be free from discrimination because of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a disabled person is recognized as and declared to be a civil right.

It was not that long ago that a heterosexual couple living together without the benefit of marriage was considered a huge 'no,no'. It was not that long ago when a homosexual was considered to be a "queer" or freak if you will. Then came the '60's and all the rationalization needed to make almost anything and everything right, correct, or o.k. I cannot judge the way someone choses to live; to me, that's a "none ya". Besides, I live in a glass house so I can't throw stones. Just find it interesting to sit back and watch. Although I personally don't like religion getting mixed into to politics, in this particular case I would like to know the history of marriage. If it started with some sort of religious rite, then, those of that religious belief would probably have the right to decide if marriage should be between man and woman or not. I'm sure gays will be able to marry in the not to distant future. So, what's next, perhaps a very lonely person will wish to marry their pet cat or dog? Interesting what happens through the years. What I would like to know is if anyone in Washington is even thinking about the economy, or health insurance, or really doing something positive about fuel consumption, etc.
