So, I was wrong about the first to go from ANTM, but I don’t feel too bad as I was just going by photos. After seeing them in action … man, there are some supremely unattractive women in this lot.
The decision to feature them in bald wigs for the first photo shoot was a good one, especially since it was pre-make-over and they had to rely on their (shudder) faces. I still think Joanie will be one of the next two to leave, and I completely see why they gave Kathy the boot, but they really needed to dump about 10 of them right off the bat. Or, better yet, just call it a day and give it to Nnenna (pictured at right), the gorgeous, poised Nigerian who blew everyone away. Seriously, unless she throws an uncharacteristic hissy-fit over getting her hair cut or the other girls poison her, I can’t see how she’ll lose.
My runner-up pick for getting he heave-ho, Sara, was quite surprising. Plucked from a mall with no intention to try out for the show, she turned in a decent performance. As I predicted, Wendy had a tearful Katrina story, but it was much more horrific than I expected — as of the show’s taping, she had no idea where her father was! Man! In person, however, the hottiness exuded by her pre-show photos pretty much evaporated. She looks like an old man.
As for the rest, the arrogant Jade is the one Tyra will break down into little bitty pieces. As Amy pointed out, she’s like Lisa from Cycle 5, but without the humor. Furonda also needs to be knocked off her high horse, for the additional reason that she’s really quite homely.
And Gina just … well, the girl has issues, man. How she even has enough brain power to make those spindly legs of her move her around, I don’t know. She’s my pick for the next to leave, with either Furonda or Wendy as runners-up.
